RETURNING TO THE NATIONAL FRONT: THE DUTCH SEX WORK APOLOGISTS
After years of international advocacy for the normalizing of prostitution as sex work, Dutch NGOs returned to the national front to put the final touches on the legalization legislation. The leading NGOs—partners in the vanguard of the campaign for legalization of prostitution in the Netherlands—were the Mr. A. de Graaf Foundation, the Red Thread, and the STV. All had been active in organizing the pro–sex work European network of NGOs allied with Dutch prostitution policy, discussed earlier in this chapter.
